Old Southeast Homes for Sale
You’ll find that most Old Southeast homes for sale were built between 1940 and around 1970. Homes are typically small to medium-sized single-family residences. Prices range from the mid-100’s and up to around $500,000.
The neighborhood is well-known for its colored hexagonal-shaped sidewalks. The area has been declared a “hex block” preservation district. Homeowners stay involved in the maintenance of these historic walkways.
Old Southeast was established as a neighborhood by a developer in the mid 1950’s, although many of the homes here were built well before that time.
Old Southeast Amenities
When people think of Old Southeast, very often the first thing that comes to mind is Lassing Park. This park runs on the east side of the neighborhood out to Tampa Bay and covers 14.2 acres of land. There’s a spectacular view of the bay from the park and the neighborhood itself has a bit of a nautical feel. The park also offers a wilderness area for walking and wildlife watching.
The Old Southeast Neighborhood Association meets monthly and actively initiates and manages projects in the neighborhood. Holiday activities are sponsored by the Association such as Christmas and 4th of July get togethers in Lassing Park. With so many beautiful homes, the Association is proud to sponsor home tours from time to time.
There is also a very local newspaper, The Old Southeast Gazette, which keeps residents up-to-date on local happenings.
